It’s easy to participate! Use your Target Credit Card®, Target Debit Card® or Target Visa Credit Card® (REDcards®) when making purchases at Target. The Take Charge of Education program donates up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to RNE, and you can save 5% on purchases, both in store and online. Here’s how:
1. Apply, get approved and get your REDcard (if you don’t have one already).
2. Enroll. Sign up for Take Charge of Education and designate RNE (enroll online at www.target.com/tcoe OR call 1-800-316-6142).
3. Shop. Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to RNE.

Georgia Natural Gas TrueBlue Schools Program

Participating in the program is super-easy — just join, and you’re done! The TrueBlue Schools Program can help RNE earn money for books, art supplies, music programs, sports equipment, classroom technology, playgrounds and more. Earning thousands of dollars each month for our school has never been easier! Here’s how:

1) If you’re not already a Georgia Natural Gas customer, simply sign up at trueblueschools.com.
2) Use your GNG account number to enroll in the TrueBlue Schools program and select RNE as your preferred school.
3) Pay your GNG bill on time and $5 a month goes to RNE. That’s right, $5 a month goes to our school for every RNE Georgia Natural Gas customer!

Labels for Education

Labels for Education awards free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from a wide variety of products. Here’s how:

1) Clip and save universal product codes (UPCs) and beverage caps from participating products, including Campbell’s Soups, Emerald Nuts, GLAD food storage products, Pepperidge Farm products, BIC pens, Post Cereals, Prego products, Swanson products and more. 2) Submit UPCs and beverage caps. UPCs can be found in 1-point, 5-point and 10-point increments. Please CLIP UPCs from labels and place in plastic baggies. Label baggies with total point values enclosed and teacher’s name, then place in the black “Labels For Education/Box Tops for Education” box in the school lobby.

3) RNE can then redeem Labels for Education points for FREE educational resources (view the merchandise catalog online at http://www.labelsforeducation.com/Merchandise-Catalog).

My Coke Rewards for Schools

Super easy to participate! Donate MY COKE REWARDS points to RNE to help obtain classroom supplies, athletic equipment and more. Here’s how to do it:

1) Register for My COKE REWARDS at https://secure.mycokerewards.com/register.do

2) Enter Codes from participating products, including: Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Sprite Zero, DASANI, POWERADE ION, Minute Maid, VAULT, Pibb Extra, Fanta, Fresca, Barq’s, Seagram’s, Nestea and Mello Yello bottles and packages.

3) Select RNE from the list of eligible schools.

Happy February from the Health & Wellness Committee!

How are your New Year’s Resolutions coming along?  Here are a few tips to help with those new resolutions:
·         Since our winter has been more on the mild side, take a 10 to 15 minute walk with your kids 3 times a week.  It will relieve some stress and get you connected with your loved ones!
·         Make sure you are drinking plenty of water – You and your children!   Have them drink a glass of water when they walk in the door from the bus or from daycare.  It will rehydrate them!
·         How many vegetables is your family eating?  Have a goal to eat vegetables at least 3 times a week.
·         Cook with your kids!  Get them involved.

Warm New Spirit Wear On Sale Now!!

New long sleeve spirit wear items are now available! Check out the images below to see the new hooded sweat jacket and men’s golf jacket.

These jackets will make great presents for kids, parents and teachers! This year we are offering a Holiday package! Buy either new jacket with an RNE Tervis tumbler and get a $4.00 discount. We will be selling spirit wear before the November 21st PTA meeting and we will also sell at the school the morning of December 8th. Please come by and purchase some RNE goodies!

Remember, beginning in February we will start our Friday Spirit Wear competitions! One Friday each month the class who wears the most spirit wear wins some great prizes. Last year teachers won gift cards for local restaurants and kids won t-shirts and water bottles!

Vision and Hearing Screening

Show Your RNE Spirit

RNE’s got some great new Spirit Wear items available for the 2011-2012 school year. Two different shirts, tumblers and water bottles…show that you LOVE YOUR SCHOOL with these fun new styles and designs. Click here to view the new items and here for the spirit wear order form.

Don’t forget to also purchase the 2011-2012 RNE Calendar so you can stay on top of all fun events, holidays and important dates throughout the upcoming year!

Pre-purchase an RNE Spirit Voucher online through our new PayPal button!! Be sure to print an order form (under Forms tab in the above menu), specify items and sizes desired and attach your PayPal receipt. Then send your form back to school via backpack. Orders will be filled on a weekly basis after your form has been received by the Spirit Wear committee. Checks will also be accepted – attach to your order form specifying items and sizes as described for vouchers. Spirit wear purchases will be delivered through backpack the week following receipt of the order.

2011-2012 PTA Membership – JOIN TODAY!!

RNE ChairJoin PTA today and help support the many programs PTA provides for the school, such as reading and math enrichment programs, Grandparents Tea, Artist Day, Youth Day Parade Float, Fall Festival…and many more!! PTA is also excited to announce the addition of our SCHOOLWIDE ENRICHMENT MODEL (SEM), which will provide rich educational experiences related directly to state standards to each and every student at RNE!! The accumulated funds to establish the SEM have been generously provided by YOU, our awesome RNE parents, and will continue to be funded by donations through premium PTA memberships and SEM specific donations. Should you choose to donate directly to the SEM, simply click on the DONATE button on the left side of the page. All donations to the SEM are 100% fully tax deductible!!

Roswell North Spruce Up Day – We Need Your Help!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6TH, 2011 – 8:00am – 11:00am

As everyone is quickly realizing, our Roswell North Elementary School will soon be opening it’s doors to students and teachers for another great year.

To get ready for this new school year, there has been lots of work done on the inside of the school to get it spruced up for the upcoming August 11th, 2011 Open House and the first day of school. Now, we need your help to do the same on the outside! Fulton County Schools takes care of the basics like mowing and some pruning, but it’s up to us (parents, students & friends of the school) to take care of the grounds.

Especially, the various planting areas and planted flower pots. This is where you can help!

Our tasks:

  • Spread Pine Straw at the front of the school
  • Spread Mulch/pull weeds at the school sign
  • Plant a few small shrubs/flowers
  • Pulling of small weeds in various planting beds
  • Prune trees (low hanging branches) around the car pool drive and a few in the parking lot
    at the front
  • Trim Ivy near the front steps
  • Prune some low hanging branches on the Crape myrtles in the front parking lot (purple
    flowering trees)
  • General clean-up

Please feel free bring your children, they are very welcome and we can use their great help too. Items to bring: gloves, rakes, broom, blower, flat shovels, hand pruners and loppers & WATER!
